Oh… Wow. You know, I kind of thought it was going to be “average”, because I don’t really like musicals, and the opening was not really helping with that. But, once I got over the fact it was a musical, it real began to shine. The cinematography, the story even the songs were all amazing.

One thing I enjoyed was that every aspect of the movie tells a story. The music and songs tells a story, the beautiful colors tells a story, and of course the writing itself tells a story. The seasons are also super creative! The movie starts and ends on winter, spring is when Mia and Sebastian’s relationship “springs” (haha get it… please laugh), summer is meant to be a break and having a good time, and fall is when they start to drift apart. The ending of the film was so good, but so heartbreaking. Seeing what Mia and Sebastian was hoping, playing their theme, achieving their dreams, but no longer with someone they love. Ouch. And, having what maybe the last time they see eachother, you can tell that their glance said, “I’m proud of you, and I still love you, but this was for the best of us.”

MY RATINGS:

Story: 9/10

CGI Quality: 9.5/10

Acting: 9.5/10

Character Development: 9.5/10

Emotional Impact & Rewatchability: 8/10

Overall: 9.6/10
